FAQ

How does this digital LAN actually work?

All you players are going to use an app called Parsec, to remotely control a computer standing at the Paradox HQ. Each computer is in turn part of a LAN here.

Here is how it looks like:

So I don’t need the game on my computer? No, the computers you are using at the PDX HQ will have the game running for you all!

Are we all controlling the same computer on my team? Yes, since we need to give you access to the same computer on our end, everyone in your team can control that computer. To make it as simple as possible we suggest you decide internally who is “in charge” of gameplay at any given time. There will be some suggestions on how to make this as easy as possible below here.

Do I send all my inputs to Parsec? No, you only send inputs through Parsec when you have it as the active window. This means you can easily alt-tab away to other windows on your computer and return to watch the gameplay whenever you feel like it.

What happens if I move the mouse/touch my keyboard while my team mate is controlling the game? Then that input will be sent to the computer so you should try to not do that. Accidents happen of course so we recommend the following steps to make it unlikely:

If I can see your computer, can you see mine? No, we have a dedicated room at our Headquarters in Stockholm where all the LAN computers are standing. The only thing on those screens will be the game that you are all playing.

My keyboard seem to send the wrong inputs to the game?

The keyboard settings on our end are on standard English keyboard layout. You might have to change your layout or use a keybinder inbetween. To accommodate as many people around the world as possible we made the decision to have it like this.

I have a pretty rad mouse with key binding, can I use that? As long as you are sending inputs that the computer on the other end can understand it should work. If not there is not much we can do unfortunately. It can be worth checking in the support channel on the event Discord and see, but probably not.
